ENACOM Postpones New RAMATEL Regulations

Resolution 843/2026 of the Argentine Communications Agency (ENACOM), published in the Official Gazette on August 28, 2026, postpones the entry into force of the new Regulations governing the Registry of Telecommunications Activities and Materials (RAMATEL) until December 1, 2026.

The new telecommunications equipment type-approval and certification regime was approved through ENACOM Resolution 57/2026, published in February of this year. Among other provisions, the Resolution approved the new RAMATEL Regulations, the Regulations governing the Registry of Telecommunications Materials Testing Laboratories, and the Regulations governing the Registry of Telecommunications Equipment Certification Agencies.

Pursuant to Resolution 57/2026, the new RAMATEL Regulations were originally scheduled to enter into force on September 1, 2026. However, ENACOM determined that the conditions necessary to properly implement them had not yet been met within the originally established timeframe. Accordingly, to complete the pending tasks and ensure the proper, orderly, and efficient implementation of the new regime, ENACOM postponed its entry into force until December 1, 2026.

Until that date, RAMATEL registrations will continue to be processed under the previous regime and will remain valid for three years. Upon expiration, said registrations will be required to comply with the new RAMATEL Regulations. Otherwise, they will be automatically cancelled.

Consistent with this extension, the repeal of the regulations comprising the currently applicable regime has also been postponed until December 1, 2026.
