Technical Requirements for Imports Now Simplified

Through Decree 892/2025, published in the Official Gazette on December 17, 2025, the Government adopted a series of measures aimed at streamlining international trade. Accordingly, as of February 15, 2026, technical requirements applicable to the import of goods will be deemed satisfied when they comply with the requirements applicable to their entry and/or commercialization in certain international markets, referred to as “high vigilance countries.”

Likewise, technical requirements will be considered fulfilled when goods’ compliance is certified by foreign certifying agencies attesting compliance with the technical and/or quality standards required or recognized in Argentina.

The Decree also establishes that once the complementary regulations the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce issues are published in the Official Gazette, test reports issued by accredited laboratories from these countries verifying compliance with the applicable technical or quality standards will also be accepted.

Finally, the Decree expressly defines the scope of this flexibilization, as its application for some groups of goods subject to the oversight of health and sanitary authorities, and because some groups are directly excluded from this flexibilization.
