Products from Regional Economies Get Tax Break on Export Duties
This amendment benefits exports of the fishing, rice, peanut, paper, and wine industries, among others.
By means of Decree No. 462/23, published in the Official Gazette on September 7, 2023, the Argentine Executive modified the export duties rates applicable to the products of several regional economies. The decision took retroactive effect from September 1.
Most of the products related to the industries of fishing, rice, peanut, pulp and paper, timber, wine, tobacco, and citrus are now taxed at a 0% rate. In some cases, the rates are from 3% to 5%. The Decree mentions that this reduction aims to improve the income of producers and manufacturers, as well as to promote the development, production, and value-addition processes in production chains with larger regional impact.
