Special Manufacturing Regime Now Expanded and Streamlined
The Executive expanded the In-Factory Customs Regime and made it easier for Argentine companies to access it.
Through Decree 252/2026, published in the Official Gazette on April 17, 2026, the Government amended Decree 688/2002, which had established the In-Factory Customs Regime (RAF).
As of June 16, 2026, operator suppliers of industrial establishments in Argentina may also apply for RAF. This will enable them to access its benefits when importing raw materials to produce intermediate goods, which will subsequently be transferred to industrial operators to include them in the final export product.
The Decree also removes sector-specific restrictions and extends RAF to the entire manufacturing sector.
To apply for RAF, companies must file an application. The authority must issue a decision within sixty days as of the date on which all the applicable standards are complied with. Guarantees must be set up in favor of Customs.
The Decree establishes that the Secretariat of Industry will issue the regulations necessary for implementing the Decree.
