Argentine Central Bank Enables Salary Accounts in USD

The Argentine Central Bank issued Communication “A” 8460 on July 24, 2026, through which it incorporated the USD as a permitted currency for deposits in salary accounts.

Cash deposits and withdrawals from USD salary accounts must be available at the branch where the account is held. Banks must also allow such transactions at other branches, ATMs, and self-service terminals, provided they have the necessary operational capacity and cash availability.

Finally, the BCRA clarified that salary accounts will remain free of charge up to the amount of salary payments credited to the account, and unwithdrawn balances may accumulate without any time limits.
