Ignacio Matías Alonso

Ignacio Matias Alonso joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2011 and currently works in the Litigation and Arbitration practice area.

He specializes in procedural and contract law and is responsible for handling complex litigation and arbitration cases throughout Argentina, representing corporate clients in the areas of business, banking, aviation, mining, and corporate contract law. He participates in numerous proceedings, representing clients before the Argentine Supreme Court and the provincial Superior Courts.

He also provides advice on bankruptcy and insolvency matters, representing clients in both judicial and extrajudicial restructuring processes. His professional practice includes participating in and processing administrative appeals in proceedings before various federal and provincial government agencies.

Before joining the Firm, he worked at Cardenas, Di Cio, Romero, Tarsitano & Lucero, Trainmet Seguros SA, Basilico, Fernandez Madero & Duggan, and in the judiciary branch. 

He graduated as a lawyer from the Catholic University of Argentina in 2000 and later completed a postgraduate diploma in Damages Law and a master's in Business and Economic Law at the same university.  

He is a member of the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association, the San Isidro Bar Association, the Federal Court of Appeals of La Plata, and the Superior Court of Justice of Santa Cruz, with a license to practice before federal courts throughout Argentina, in the City of Buenos Aires, the Province of Buenos Aires, and the Province of Santa Cruz.
