Diego Fernandez is a partner in the IP, Information Technology, Privacy & Artificial Intelligence Department.
He is a technology expert, with 20 years’ experience in a wide range of expertise that includes privacy & data protection, privacy compliance, artificial intelligence, software licensing, cyber security, and criminal law in connection with technology. He regularly advises clients on IT and privacy-related matters, and on IP, Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection in M&A transactions.
Diego has extensive experience advising clients on IP matters, including litigation, giving the Firm the unmatched ability of providing knowledgeable advice on IP and technology related matters under the same person.
Diego was a foreign associate in the Information Technology and Privacy team of Foley & Lardner, Chicago.
Diego is the President of ITechLaw (International Technology Law Association). He is also an Advisory Board Member of IAPP (International Association of Privacy Professionals) and Co-chair of their Argentine Chapter, member of the Data Protection Committee of INTA, and member of the Technology Committee of IBA.
Diego is the President of the Privacy & M&A Committee of the Latin America Privacy Association (ALAP), Editorial Board Member of the Global Privacy Law Review and Co-Chair for Latin America of the Privacy Group of Lex Mundi, the largest independent law firms network. He is also a frequent speaker in international conferences on IT & Privacy issues.
He is the Director of a postgraduate course on “Technology, Law and Corporations” at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, in which he teaches and directs the (i) Data Protection and (ii) Artificial Intelligence classes.
He is also a guest professor at The John Marshall Law School, Chicago (United States) in its online course on Global Privacy.
