Speaking engagements

On February 12, 2022, Manuela Adrogué was invited by Emory International Law Society of Emory University to participate in the Inaugural Conference on International Law & Cyberspace where she spoke in the Public International Law & Cybersecurity panel.

On November 2021, Diego Fernández was invited by the Argentine Chapter of ISC², to discuss privacy issues. In particular, they discussed consent as legal basis; data processing and international transfer agreements; sensitive data and data subject’s rights.

On January 18, 2022, Diego Fernández participated as speaker during the International Course of Data Protection organized by Universidad Latina from Panama. Diego discussed international transfer of data in Latin America.

At the same time, Diego Fernández was invited as guest professor during the Compliance Program at Universidad Austral (IAE Business School), during which he shared his views regarding the intersection between privacy, data protection and compliance investigations.

Moreover, on January 20, 2022, Diego was also invited by the Rumanian Privacy Association to their Privacy Conference 2022, organized together with the Rumanian IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter. Diego shared his views regarding privacy and data protection n Argentina,.

Also, on December 2, 2021, Diego was invited by the Asociación Ecuatoriana de Protección de Datos (AEPD) to discuss data protection in Argentina. He participated together with speakers Jaime Mantilla-Compte (Ecuador), Leon Weinstok (Costa Rica) and Joel A. Gómez (Mexico).

On February 10, 2022, Diego Fernández participated as speaker in an event organized by the Inter-American Affairs Committee of the New York City Bar Association and the Argentine Lawyers Association of New York regarding "NFTs and the Regulatory Landscape in Latin America and the US".

Appointments

Gustavo Giay has been appointed Vice Chair of the Technology Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) for the period January 2022 – December 2022.

Diego Fernández was re-appointed by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as co-Chair of its KnowledgeNet Chapter Buenos Aires. Diego is also a member of its Educational Advisory Board.
