Antidumping Proceedings: Air Conditioning Units

The Ministry of Productive Development (by Resolution No. 758/2021) opened a sunset review on account of the expiration of the term and change of circumstances of the antidumping measures on exports from China to Argentina of “air conditioning units with a capacity less than or equal to 6,500 frigories/hour; either cooling-only or including a valve for reversal of the cooling/heating cycle; wall or window types, composed by only one body, including a device to change the temperature of the air; of separate parts, “split-system,” imported as a set or under tariff codes, consisting of an indoor unit or evaporator unit, compact, prefabricated, without cooling equipment, and of an outdoor unit or condensing unit, with a compressor and heat exchanger.” These goods are classified under Mercosur Customs Tariff Codes (N.C.M) 8415.10.11, 8415.10.19, 8415.90.10 and 8415.90.20.

The Association of Argentine Electronic Terminal Factories (AFARTE) requested the opening of the sunset review on behalf of the companies BGH S.A., NEW SAN S.A., RADIO VICTORIA ARGENTINA S.A. and CARRIER FUEGUINA S.A.

The Resolution keeps current antidumping measures in force until the sunset review is completed.

So far, the authorities have determined a dumping margin of 86.15% from China, considering exports to Chile as a third market country.
