Dumping – Air Conditioning Units
A sunset and a changed-circumstances reviews were initiated for the anti-dumping measure applied to air conditioning units originating in the Thailand.
Through Resolution 1458/2026, the Ministry of Economy opened a sunset and changed-circumstances reviews regarding the anti-dumping measure applicable to exports to Argentina of “air conditioning units with a capacity of up to six thousand five hundred (6,500) frigories/hour, cooling-only or heat-cool versions, through the use of a reverse-cycle valve: wall or window type, self-contained, with a device to regulate air temperature,” originating in the Kingdom of Thailand. The Ministry also decided not to maintain the anti-dumping measure in force while the review is conducted.
The products involved are classified under Mercosur Customs Tariff Code (NCM) 8415.10.19.
The review was requested by the Association of Argentine Electronics Manufacturing Plants and Terminals (AFARTE) and by the companies BGH SA and NEWSAN SA.
At this stage, the Argentine Foreign Trade Commission (CNCE) determined a dumping recurrence margin of 256.25% for exports originating in Thailand to Mexico, which was used as the selected third-country market.
