Federal Tax Authority Appoints Data Protection Officer
The Federal Tax Authority appointed Eduardo Cimato as its Data Protection Officer.

Within the framework of Resolution 40/2018 of the Data Protection Authority (DPA), the DPA recommended that state agencies holding personal databases should implement a data protection policy, disseminate and update it permanently, and appoint an employed agent as Data Protection Officer (DPO). The DPO will be in charge of the implementation and internal compliance control of said policy.
Based on this recommendation, the Federal Tax Authority’s (AFIP) Deputy General Directorate of Planning and Institutional Coordination appointed attorney Eduardo Hernan Cimato, who currently oversees the Personal Data Protection Section, and who has the specific knowledge required to be a DPO. Eduardo Cimato had been appointed National Director of Personal Data in 2018.
