Rocio Goyanes joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2018 and is currently a Senior Associate in the Litigation & Arbitration Department.

Rocio has a strong track record in handling complex dispute resolution matters, both in judicial litigation and international arbitration. She has represented clients in proceedings before national and federal courts, as well as in international arbitrations administered by leading institutions such as the ICC and ICSID. Her practice focuses on commercial and investment disputes, with particular expertise in the energy, infrastructure, and oil & gas sectors.

In 2024, she completed a Master of Laws (LLM) at Columbia Law School, where she was awarded the Lawrence A. Wien Fellowship for Corporate Responsibility. During her time in Columbia, she served as co-chair of Columbia Arbitration Day (CAD) and was an active member of the Columbia International Arbitration Association (CIAA). She also worked as a Foreign Associate in the International Disputes team at Baker Botts LLP (Washington DC), where she represented clients in investor-state arbitrations under ICSID rules.

Rocio graduated from University of Buenos Aires with honors in 2018, with a concentration in Public International Law. As part of her studies at UBA, she won a merit-based scholarship to attend Cornell Law School’s LLM program for a semester (Ithaca, NY, 2017). She also holds a postgraduate degree in International Commercial Arbitration (Universidad CAECE, co-organized with the ICC) and a postgraduate degree in International Contracts and Litigation (Universidad Austral).

Rocio is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association.
