Leonardo G. Rodriguez provides legal advice to mining companies. He specializes in mining and commercial law and litigation, areas in which he has vast experience. He has been a member of Marval O’Farrell Mairal since 2000, and a partner of the Firm since 2012.
In 2008, he worked as a foreign associate at Holland & Hart, Denver. Before joining Marval, he worked as an associate at Estudio Ymaz and at the Ministry of Justice of the Province of Buenos Aires.
He graduated top of his class at Pontifical Catholic University of La Plata (1997). Later, he obtained an LLM in Natural Resources from the Sturm College of Law, University of Denver (top of his class, 2008), a Master’s in Business Law from Universidad Austral (top of his class, 1999), and a Master’s in Business Law from Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Madrid (top of his class, 2002). He holds a PhD in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina. His doctoral thesis was graded “outstanding-cum laude” with recommendation for publication (2022).
He is a widely published expert on mining and commercial law. He has taught Credit Documents at Universidad Austral and has been a guest lecturer for the Master’s in Business Law at Universidad Austral, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria (Madrid), and the Sturm College of Law, University of Denver. He taught Mining Law at Universidad de San Andres.
He is a member of the City of Buenos Aires Bar, the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. He is also a founding member of the Argentinean Institute of Mining Law (Instituto Argentino de Derecho para la Mineria, IADEM).
