Audiovisual Innovation Program Now Approved
The Communications Agency aims to promote innovative audiovisual projects by providing access to infrastructure, technology, and specialized assistance.
The Argentine Communications Agency (ENACOM) issued Resolution 515/2026, published in the Official Gazette on July 8, 2026, which approved the Audiovisual Innovation Program (PIA) within the framework of the General Regulations of the Fund for the Promotion of Audiovisual Projects (FOPROA), previously approved through ENACOM Resolution 11/2026. FOPROA establishes the framework for allocating resources derived from levies and fines imposed in the audiovisual sector through support mechanisms and programs ENACOM implements.
Within this context, ENACOM approved the PIA to promote the production of high-quality audiovisual content; encourage innovation in methodologies, formats, and processes; strengthen professional capabilities within the sector; and support projects with technological, artistic, cultural, social, or productive impact at the national and/or international levels.
The Resolution also provides that:
- Funding will be provided exclusively in kind. Resources may be allocated to access infrastructure, equipment, technical or specialized professional services, technological tools for creative or post-production processes, technical assistance, and professional training.
- Calls for applications launched under the PIA will establish the specific requirements applicable to the selection, award, and implementation of projects.
- Projects will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee, which will consider their internal consistency, feasibility, scale and potential, and originality, with a particular focus on innovation.
- Beneficiaries must enter into a Resource Allocation Agreement that states the scope of the resources awarded, their obligations, the applicable time frames, monitoring mechanisms and, where applicable, the conditions for the return of any performance guarantee required under the relevant call for applications.
The PIA will remain in effect for 36 months as of the date it was published in the Official Gazette, subject to extension by administrative act, or until the allocated resources have been exhausted, whichever occurs first.
