New Release: Argentine Law on Mining

Mining Press Argentina has published the book Argentine Law on Mining, whose author is Leonardo G. Rodriguez, with the collaboration of Francisco Abeal, Juan P. Boido, Diego Kelly and Fernando Vaquero. This book, written in English, describes the legal framework applicable to the mining business in Argentina. After an explanation of the Argentine legal and judicial system and mentioning Argentina’s mineral wealth, the book discusses in detail issues such as the notions of “social license” and “corporate social responsibility”, the legal organization of the mining company, the acquisition and maintenance of mining rights, the provincial mining authorities and applicable procedures, the general guidelines of the environmental regulation for the mining activity, the legal framework for the use of water, the tax system and mining investments’ promotion, foreign exchange and labor regulations and, finally, a reference to investment protection treaties signed by Argentina.
