The National Office of Knowledge Management Created the Artificial Intelligence Program

On November 30th, 2021, the National Office of Knowledge Management (the "Office") under the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs, issued Resolution 90/2021 by which the "Artificial Intelligence Program" was created (the "Program"). The purpose of the Program is to provide support to the Economic and Social Council to foster the development and promotion of technological skills related to artificial intelligence.

Among some of the functions of the Program are the following:

  • To encourage the development of actions, tending to promote the development of activities related to artificial intelligence.
  • To summon the different sectors that integrate the Economic and Social Council for the development of artificial intelligence.
  • To enter into agreements with public and private organizations to foster the promotion, training and education activities required for the expansion of the artificial intelligence field.
  • To encourage research, development and technological production based on artificial intelligence.
  • Facilitate the interaction between the different actors of the national and regional ecosystem and give support to the mechanisms for the transfer of knowledge and artificial intelligence solutions.

The Office will be in charge of directing the Program and will have the authority to implement actions to make it operational.
