“The province will regulate dredging activities in harbors and channels”, published on the official website of the Provincial Agency for the Sustainable Development on 12/18/2017 |
By means of a resolution, the Agency for Sustainable Development of the Province of Buenos Aires will regulate dredging activities in harbors and channels in the territory of said province. With this new regulation the Province will request risk analysis and mathematical modeling, among other technical studies, from those who undertake dredging activities.

In the context of the amendment of the Federal Criminal Code promoted by the Executive Branch, the “Criminal aspects of environmental law” debate sessions were held in the University of Buenos Aires’ Law School. There, the Federal Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Sergio Bergman, promoted the inclusion of crimes against the environment and environmental management in the amendment of the Criminal Code.

“Atuel River conflict: the Court ordered the provinces of La Pampa and Mendoza to submit a works program with the participation of the Federal Government”, published by the Judiciary Information Center on 12/01/2017 |
In the context of the legal case between both provinces, the Argentine Supreme Court ordered the submission of a works program within the scope of the Atuel Inferior Interprovincial Commission, with the participation of the Federal Government. Moreover, the Court ordered the abovementioned provinces to settle a water flow suitable for the rebuilding of the affected ecosystem located in the northeast of the Province of La Pampa.

“La Provincia regulará el dragado de puertos y canales”, publicado en el sitio web del Organismo Provincial para el Desarrollo Sostenible, el 28/12/2017 |
A través de una resolución, el Organismo Provincial para el Desarrollo Sostenible de la Provincia de Buenos Aires regulará el dragado de puertos y canales en el territorio de dicha provincia. Con esta nueva norma, la provincia solicitará a quienes emprendan actividades de dragado análisis de riesgos, modelizaciones matemáticas, entre otros estudios técnicos.

En el marco de la reforma del Código Penal de la Nación, que impulsa el Poder Ejecutivo, se realizaron en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Buenos Aires las jornadas de debate denominadas “Aspectos penales del derecho ambiental”. Allí, el ministro de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sustentable de la Nación Sergio Bergman promovió la inclusión de los delitos contra el ambiente y la gestión ambiental en la reforma del Código Penal.

“Conflicto Río Atuel: la Corte ordenó a las provincias de La Pampa y Mendoza la presentación de un programa de obras con la participación del Estado Nacional”, publicado por el Centro de Información Judicial, el 01/12/2017 |
En el marco del proceso judicial entre ambas provincias, la Corte Suprema de Justicia de la Nación ordenó la presentación de un plan de obras dentro del ámbito de la Comisión Interprovincial del Atuel Inferior, con la participación del Estado Nacional. Asimismo, ordenó a dichas provincias fijar un caudal hídrico apto para la recomposición del ecosistema afectado en el noroeste de la provincia de La Pampa. |
