The Minimum and Maximum Number of Characters Allowed for the "AR" Domain Was Amended.

On January 13, 2022, Resolution 2/2022 of the National Legal and Technical Secretariat came into force, modifying the minimum and maximum number of characters allowed for the registration of domain names under the country code ".AR".

Previously, the minimum and maximum number of characters allowed (from 1 to 50) was limited to second-level areas, not including the characters corresponding to the registration area in question within their calculation. As of the entry into force of the Resolution, the limit of 1 to 50 characters will also be applicable for the ".ar" area, the only one administered by the National Directorate of the Internet Domain Registry that had been excluded.
