Changes to the Argentine System of Imports for Certain Goods
The amendments apply to those goods required to meet technical regulations for their definitive import.

By means of Joint General Resolution 5429/2023, published in the Official Gazette on October 11, 2023, the Argentine Tax Authority and the Secretariat of Trade modified the application process for declarations in the Argentine System of Imports (SIRA) for goods that must meet technical regulations before their definitive entry. The regulation came into force the day it was published, but will follow a gradual application plan within the following 60 calendar days.
The regulation establishes that SIRA applications must now include the docket number or the approval number the National Directorate of Technical Regulations issues, depending on the type of goods involved. This agency is now incorporated to the SIRA system and must intervene and validate the filed data within 60 calendar days.
This regulation aims to make control of compliance with technical regulations on goods imported paper-free. The implementation schedule is as follows:
