Registration of Domain Names
New domain name extensions and new official fees for the registration of domain names under the country code “.ar” have come into effect.

On December 1, 2015 the National Domain Name Administration, the entity responsible for the administration of domain names in Argentina, issued Resolution No. 109/2015 (the “Resolution”) approving the creation of three new domain name extensions and also new official fees for the registration of domain names under the country code “.ar”.
New domain name extensions
The Resolution created the following domain name extensions:
- app.ar: available for websites that host applications and websites related thereto.
- pol.ar: only available to political parties recognized under Law No. 23,298.
- seg.ar: only available to insurance companies and insurance brokers authorized by the Argentina Superintendence of Insurance.
New official fees
The Resolution also approved the following new official fees for the registration and renewal of domain names:
