New official fees for trademark prosecution matters in Argentina

According to Decree No 878/2006 published in the Official Gazette on July 14, 2006, the official fees involved in the prosecution and grant of trademark and patent applications were modified. These fees are in force as from July 24, 2006.

New official fees for trademark prosecution matters in Argentina

Regarding trademark prosecution, the main aspects of the changes are as follows:

1) Filing and Renewals

The official fees for filing both a new trademark and a renewal application were increased from US$ 34 to US$ 68.

2) Examination

No fee will be paid for filing a reply to an Official Action based on substantive grounds. However, official fees in the amount of US$ 10 will still have to be paid when replying to an Official Action based on formal grounds.

3) Opposition

The official fees for entering a notice of opposition were increased from US$ 17 to US$ 51.

4) Certificates of Registration

No fee will be paid at the time of obtaining the certificates of registration.

The official fees in connection with changes of ownership remain the same.
