New Geographical Indication for Wines
The new recognized GI is located in the Province of Buenos Aires.

On July 8, 2024, the National Viticulture Institute published Resolution 24/2024 in the Official Gazette, adding another Geographical Indication (GI) to the list of recognized GIs in Argentina.
On this occasion, Mr. Matias Raul Lucas requested that “TANDIL”—in the Province of Buenos Aires—be recognized, protected, and registered as a GI of Argentina. The application did not receive oppositions from third parties and all legal requirements for its recognition were met.
The new GI is made up of terroirs with distinctive qualities to produce quality wines, in accordance with Law 25163, whose regulatory framework regulates the designation and presentation of wines and spirits of wine origin in Argentina.
