Resolution 77-DEyP/2024, published in the Official Gazette of Jujuy on May 13, 2024
This Resolution approves the Regulations for the Province of Jujuy Registry of Local Suppliers of Mining Producers, which has the registration requirements and designates the Secretariat of Industrial and Commercial Development as the administration entity of the Registry.

This Resolution approves the formula for calculating the amount to be paid every other month for “use and preservation of water bodies.” These include the use of water resources in mining for exploration, exploitation, open pit extraction and milling, and concentration of minerals.

This Resolution approves the Protocol of Free, Prior, and Informed Consultation (PCP) applicable to the indigenous communities of the Province of Río Negro, with legal status recognized by the provincial enforcement authority. The Secretary of Mining will be the enforcement authority to carry out the process of Free, Prior, and Informed Consultation when the mining rights requested overlap with the territory of an indigenous community, or when a verifiable direct affectation to the cultural identity of an indigenous community is proven.

Decree 580/24 of the Executive Branch of the Province of Rio Negro, published in the Official Gazette of Rio Negro on June 3, 2024
This Decree repeals Provincial Decree 1859/2012 and approves the regulation of Law 4738, modified by Law 5703, which regulates the functioning of the Provincial Council of Environmental Mining Evaluation when it evaluates the environmental impact assessments presented in the mining files in the province.

“Mining: exports projected to exceed USD 12 billion by 2032,” published in El Economista on May 2, 2024
The growth projections for the mining industry in Argentina for the next eight years are very promising. Exports are expected to increase from USD 4 billion to more than USD 12 billion per year, direct jobs are expected to increase from 100,000 to more than 180,000, and investments are expected to grow from USD 1.8 billion to more than USD 3 billion.

American Salars Lithium entered into an agreement with Recharge Resources to acquire a 100% interest in the 800-hectare Pocitos 1 Project.
The project has a mineral resource estimate that consists of an inferred lithium carbonate equivalent to 760,000 tons.
