New Trademark "La Rioja”

The Province of La Rioja created the mark to strengthen consumer perception of quality and regional origin, adding greater value to local goods and services.

New Trademark "La Rioja”

On December 12, 2024, the House of Deputies of La Rioja passed Law 10783, officially establishing the creation of the trademark "La Rioja.” This initiative aims to highlight and promote the province’s products and services, both nationally and internationally.

The trademark "La Rioja" will cover a wide range of local products and services, including:

  • agricultural and artisanal products,
  • tourism and cultural services,
  • events and academic activities.

The enforcement authority of this provincial law is the Secretariat of Communication and Public Planning of the Government of the Province of La Rioja, which will coordinate efforts with public and private bodies to ensure its proper implementation. The law also includes a brand use manual.

To ensure effective management aligned with the needs of the productive sector, a Consultative Committee will be established. This committee will include representatives from local municipalities, producers, and other key stakeholders.

Currently, La Rioja’s Secretariat of Communication and Public Planning holds a trademark registration for "LA RIOJA - ARGENTINA," primarily covering advertising services in class 35. However, the provincial government has not filed new trademark applications so far.
