Marval, O'Farrell & Mairal jointly with the International Anti-counterfeiting Coalition (IACC) and the Customs Authority organized the "Training Seminar on Detection of Counterfeit Goods" on April 30, 2010 at the Customs' regional offices in the city of La Plata. The city of La Plata, the capital of the Province of Buenos Aires, constitutes an important customs delegation in the control of counterfeit goods, particularly in transit goods to border countries. There were approximately 80 attendees, including officers from Customs, Federal Police, Naval Forces and officers from the Judiciary. Gustavo P Giay, Diego Fernández and Marcelo García Sellart gave presentations on how to detect counterfeit goods. The following trademark owners participated in the Training Seminar: GENERAL MOTORS, ELI LILLY, ENERGIZER, HASBRO, HONDA, NOKIA, TIMBERLAND, OAKLEY, PROCTER & GAMBLE, CALVIN KLEIN, CHANEL and ADIDAS.
