ANMAT Will Not Intervene in Imports of Certain Products

On June 9, 2025, the Argentine Administration of Drugs, Foods, and Medical Technology (ANMAT) issued Regulation 4033/2025, published in the Official Gazette on June 10, 2025. The Regulation establishes that ANMAT will not intervene in the import authorization procedures initiated by authorized facilities for cosmetic products, household cleaning products, oral hygiene products, disposable hygienic products for external use and hygienic products for intravaginal use imported to be commercialized or distributed free of charge.

ANMAT will also not intervene in these products’ import procedures of samples exclusively for exhibitions or demonstrations to arrange commercial operations, samples for testing laboratories, donated products, and raw materials to be used in the industries of said products.

The regulation establishes that the facilities that import such products must submit—within 48 hours of nationalizing the products—the Import Notice (an affidavit) through the Remote Procedures Platform (TAD). Likewise, both the importing facilities and their corresponding products must comply with the applicable sanitary regulations.

The measure is part of a broader strategy to simplify administrative processes and economize resources.

Regulation 4033/2025 will enter into force 30 days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
