Ignacio J. Pujante

Ignacio is a partner at Marval in our Neuquén office.

Ignacio J. Pujante is a lawyer from Universidad de Belgrano, with a postgraduate degree in Oil and Gas Law from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where his thesis received the highest distinction, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was awarded scholarships from the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators. He trained as in-house counsel at Pluspetrol, Pioneer Natural Resources in Dallas, Texas, and Apache, before co-founding Pujante Hernaez Abogados in Neuquén, with more than twenty years dedicated to the industry. In 2018, they integrated Pujante Hernaez Abogados’ corporate advisory practice with AHP Abogados, a firm focused on mass litigation, insurance and advisory services for retail companies. He speaks Spanish and English.

He served as director of the Hydrocarbons Law Institute of the Neuquén Bar Association and was nominated for three consecutive years in Who’s Who Legal – Mining. He was appointed through a merit-based selection process as Alternate Arbitrator of the Arbitral Tribunal of the Neuquén Bar Association.

For more than 20 years, he has advised both operators and contractors in Neuquén and Río Negro on regulatory matters, contracts, environmental issues, labor and union matters, and relationships with communities and landowners. His practice focuses on corporate law, natural resources, environmental law and labor law. He regularly writes and speaks on hydrocarbons law at local and international forums.
