Diego Chighizola joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2001 and has been a partner since 2012. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, business structuring and corporate finance, agribusiness, and the development and financing of real estate projects.
In recent years, he has led complex M&A transactions, including General Electric’s investment in YPF Luz, the acquisition of Profertil by Adecoagro, acquisitions of controlling stakes in Transportadora de Gas del Sur (TGS), and several ongoing competitive processes for the acquisition of strategic assets.
He has been recognized by Chambers Latin America and other industry publications as a leading specialist in the real estate and agribusiness sectors.
Additionally, Diego worked as a foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York between 2004 and 2005.
He graduated as a lawyer from the Faculty of Law of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in 2001; he obtained an LL.M. from Columbia Law School (2004), and a Master’s degree in Finance from Universidad del CEMA (2007).
He teaches the course Corporate Consolidations in Latin America in the international program at New York University School of Law and was, for a decade, a professor of Contracts and Business Law in the law program at Universidad de San Andrés.
He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Colegio Público de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires.
