Amalia Guadalupe Cartagena

Amalia Guadalupe Cartagena joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2022 and is a senior associate in the Intellectual Property Law Department, where she specializes in patent law. 

Before joining the Firm, she worked for ten years for other IP firms.

She obtained a degree in sworn English-Spanish translation (Universidad Argentina de la Empresa, 2012), and a law degree (Universidad de Buenos Aires, 2020), specializing in business law.

During the course of her studies, she was selected to take part in an academic exchange program in International and Comparative Business Law (Bucerius Law School, Germany, 2018).

She completed a postgraduate course in Regulatory Affairs in the Pharmaceutical Industry (Universidad de Buenos Aires, 2024) and is pursuing a master’s degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies (Universidad Austral, 2025).

She is a registered IP agent and a member of the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association, the Translator’s Association of the City of Buenos Aires, and the Argentine Association of IP Agents (AAAPI).
