Three New Partners

On August 1, 2015, Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal promoted three senior associates to partner: Diego S. Kelly, Juan M. López Mañán and Fernando M. Vaquero. These promotions strengthen three of the firm’s core practice areas: labor and employment, intellectual property and tax. The new partners already have a wealth of experience and are highly specialized in their respective areas of expertise. Diego S. Kelly provides full employment advice to multinational and local corporations, particularly with regard to M&A, transference of employees, rightsizings, union issues, compensation programs and localizing of policies. He holds post-graduate studies in labor law and has strong knowledge of English, having obtained a university degree as a public translator. He is also a member of the Research Group of the Argentine Labor and Social Security Association. Juan M. López Mañán specializes in Intellectual Property, focusing on trademarks and domain names. With over 10 years’ experience, he handles trademark portfolios in Argentina and Latin America and has extensive experience in due diligence and complex transactional work involving intellectual property rights. Fernando M. Vaquero specializes in the tax aspects of M&A, financing, corporate restructuring, real estate projects and securitizations and has broad experience of tax litigation. Before joining Marval he worked for the Ministry of Economy and for Diaz y Asociados (Arthur Andersen). He holds degrees in both law and accountancy from the University of Buenos Aires and has published books on international taxation.
