Iris Quadrio, Martin Chajchir, Juan López Mañán, Gustavo P. Giay and Diego Fernández have been appointed by the International Trademark Association (INTA) as members of different committees for 2018-2019. Their appointments are effective beginning January 1, 2018 and will conclude on December 31, 2019.

Ignacio Sánchez Echagüe gave a presentation on “PPHs in Argentina: Speed of Prosecution: For When You Need (Or Don’t Need) Patent Rights” at the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Annual Meeting 2017, on October 20, 2017, in Washington DC.

Carol O’Donnell gave a presentation on “Geographical Names: their use and registration as trademarks and geographical indications; legislation and evolution of case law”, at the VI Wine Law International Conference, organized by ADEVI (Wine Law Association, South American Section AIDV –International Wine Law Association), and the Universidad del Aconcagua, held in Mendoza, Argentina, on October 20, 2017.

Ignacio Sánchez Echagüe gave a presentation at the USPTO about “Intellectual Property Practice in Argentina” on the “IP Panorama Event” organized by the USPTO and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) on October 18, 2017, in Washington DC.

Ignacio Sánchez Echagüe gave a presentation on “Data Protection for Clinical Studies” on the seminar “Health: Dilemmas and Challenges of Public Policy” organized by the Ministry of Health, Foro para el Desarrollo de las Ciencias and Grupo Medeos on October 4, 2017.

Iris Quadrio attended the conference “The Changing Landscape of Latin America”, organized by the International Trademark Association (INTA), October 2-3 in Cartagena, Colombia. She took part in the conference Project Team and was in charge of moderating the following sessions: “Politics and IP. Navigating this Unlikely Pair” and “How to Measure and Value your Brand”.
