Diego Fernández, senior associate at Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal and currently working as visiting foreign counsel at Foley & Lardner, was a speaker at the Webinar “Avanzando: Bridge to the Future of Latin American Business”, organized by the law firm Foley & Lardner LLP and which took place on July 15, 2014. The Webinar discussed the licensing of IP rights, with a special focus on cross-border licensing issues between the United States and Latin America, specifically Brazil and Argentina. Among other topics, the speakers addressed the following: enforcement strategies, governing law and dispute resolution, payment of royalties and tax issues.
