Marval O’Farrell Mairal promotes four new partners
Marval O’Farrell Mairal promoted four associates to partners: Laura Bolatti Cristófaro, Gonzalo Santamaría, Sergio Tálamo and Andrés O’Farrell. These promotions strengthen the development of many of our firm’s key practice areas: Corporate, Public and Energy, Banking, and Criminal Law. The new partners already have a wealth of experience and are highly specialized in their respective areas of expertise:
- Laura Bolatti Cristófaro specializes in corporate law and M&A. She has led many transactions, advising both buyers and sellers in complex M&A transactions and joint ventures. María Laura joined Marval O’Farrell Mairal in 2004. She graduated from the School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires with honors in 2007 and was admitted to the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association. In 2013, she earned a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Chicago, after which she spent one year working as a foreign associate in Dechert LLP’s corporate and securities team in New York.
- Gonzalo Santamaría is currently a member of the Public & Administrative Law department. Gonzalo’s area of expertise is Administrative Law and regulatory matters. He specializes in electricity, public utilities, infrastructure and government contracts. His practice is currently focused on energy transactions, advising clients in connection with renewable, thermal and co-generation projects. He graduated from the School of Law of the Universidad de Buenos Aires with a specialization in Corporate Law in 2008 and completed a Master’s Program in Law and Economics at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, Argentina. In 2013, he attended the University of Texas at Austin as an international exchange student.
- Sergio Tálamo specializes in capital markets and corporate finance. He has extensive experience representing companies and investment banks in public offerings, private placements and tender and exchange offers, syndicated loans and asset securitization involving a variety of equity, debt and hybrid instruments. He graduated from the School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires in 2003 and later completed a Master’s in Finance & Business Law at the same university. In 2017, he worked as a foreign associate at the New York offices of Linklaters LLP.
- Andrés O'Farrell specializes in criminal law and criminal litigation and has extensive experience in representing both local and international clients in matters involving allegations of bribery, fraud, breach of fiduciary duties, money laundering and financial crime. Between 2009 and 2010, Andrés was a foreign associate at Uría Menéndez’s white collar criminal practice (Madrid, Spain), advising clients in connection with official investigations, internal audits and corporate fraud. He graduated with honors from Universidad Austral and obtained an LLM at Columbia University. In 2017, under the Chevening Scholarship program and with UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office sponsorship, he obtained an MSc in Public Management and Governance at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
