Marval O’Farrell Mairal advised Pernod Ricard, one of the world’s leading wine and spirits groups, on the sale of Bodega Etchart to Molinos Río de la Plata, a leading company in Argentina’s food industry.
Founded in 1850 and located in Cafayate, in the province of Salta, Bodega Etchart is one of Argentina’s most traditional wineries. Through its Etchart and Cafayate brands, the company has established itself as a benchmark in Argentina’s high-altitude wine segment, renowned for wines that reflect the distinctive terroir of the Calchaquí Valleys.
The transaction enabled Molinos Río de la Plata to add one of the Argentine wine industry’s historic brands to its portfolio.
The Pernod Ricard team was comprised of Claire Berenger, Ernest Yan and Constance Mérillon, with local support provided by Ramón Biaus, Agustín Lentini, and Jorge Niremberg.
The Marval team was led by partners Pablo A. Artagaveytia and María Macarena García Mirri, together with associates Diego Di Leonforte, Agustina Arias and Agustín H. Queirolo.
