Marval O’Farrell Mairal Advised Assurant in the Sale of its Participation in Iké Asistencia

Assurant, Inc. (NYSE: AIZ), a leading global provider of lifestyle and housing solutions that support, protect and connect major consumer purchases, today announced the closing of the sale of its investment in Iké Asistencia (Iké) and certain of its affiliates. Iké is a services assistance business with operations in Mexico and other countries in Latin America.

Marval O’Farrell Mairal participated in the assessment related with the implications of the global transactions in the local companies Eficasia Argentina S.A. and Ike Asistencia Argentina S.A. and the relation between its shareholders and the security package from the local perspective.

The lead counsel for Assurant in the global transaction were Debevoise & Plimpton and Nader, Hayaux y Goebel. Estudio Galicia (Mexico) assessed Ike in the global transaction.

The transaction included capital contributions as well as the execution of several agreements among the shareholders of the companies around the world, especially those located in Mexico, as well as the finance of part of the purchase price and the security package.
