Marval O’Farrell Mairal advises on the acquisition of 50% of Cdimex
Grupo Newsan’s acquisition of 50% of the shareholding of Cdimex, owned by Grupo Cortassa, was announced on August 22, 2025. Marval O’Farrell Mairal acted as legal advisor to the sellers.
Cdimex is a company dedicated to the development, production, import, and commercialization of fragrances and beauty products in Argentina, including local brands such as Cher, Bensimon, Sarkany, Tucci, and Fascino, and international brands such as Lattafa, Armaf, Elizabeth Arden, Rasasi, Afnan, and Al Wataniah, among others. It currently leads the segment, with six of the ten best-selling brands and a strong presence in pharmacies, beauty retailers, and digital channels. The company is part of Grupo Cortassa, a family-owned organization based in Rafaela, Santa Fe, with 70 years of history.
Following the transaction, Cdimex will continue to operate independently, but under joint management. The partnership with Grupo Newsan will allow the company to accelerate its expansion and the growth and professionalization of its operations. The Cortassa family, for its part, will contribute its knowledge and expertise in the fragrances and beauty products business.
