Santiago R. O'Conor was the Chair of the first joint Seminar between ASIPI (Interamerican Association of Intellectual Property) and ECTA (European Communities Trademark Association) which took place in Barcelona, Spain, on June 15, 2010. The conference dealt with the following items: "International Treaties: how they impact on trademark protection in America"; "Stopping counterfeited goods from importation" and "Trademark filing, prosecution and maintenance in Latin America". Mr. O'Conor also had an active participation at the Anticounterfeiting Committee of ECTA of which he is a member.
