Anti-corruption Laws – First Latin American Congress on Ethics, Transparency & Anti-corruption Compliance

The First Latin American Congress on Ethics, Transparency & Anti-corruption Compliance was held in Buenos Aires on May 10-11, 2012. International level practitioners, academics and specialists shared their experience in global programs to reduce and prevent risks that could damage business reputation. Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal organized this important meeting, together with AmCham Argentina, the Argentine-British and the Argentine-German Chambers of Commerce, BDO and Universidad de San Andrés. In this meeting, Patricia López Aufranc acted as moderator in the panels on “Enforcement trends FCPA / UK towards LA” and “How to comply and be competitive in Latin America?”; she also was in charge of the Workshops on “Board’s Tough Decisions (Role Playing)” and “Crisis Assessment and Management”.
Likewise, prestigious lawyers William Barry and Jeffrey Lehtman –from Richards, Kibbe & Orbe LLP (Washington)–, and Nigel Farr and Susannah Cogman –from Herbert Smith (London)– gave a presentation on anti-corruption laws in USA and UK (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and The Bribery Act) in our premises on May 11, 2012.
