On April 18, 2007, Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal hosted roundtable discussions on "The Best Practices for the Hiring, Training, Retention and Advancement of Women Attorneys", a report issued by the New York City Bar's Committee on Women in the Profession. The discussions were led by Joan Vermeulen, Executive Director of the Cyrus R Vance Center and Carrie H Cohen, consultant to the Cyrus R Vance Center and Chair of the New York City Bar’s Committee on Women in the Profession. There was a high turnout of senior in-house women attorneys and women partners and senior associates of various Buenos Aires law firms at these discussions, which provided for a good opportunity to discuss practical ways to improve women’s advancement in the legal profession.
