International Trademark Association

Several members of the Firm took an active part in the International Trademark Association (INTA) Annual Meeting held in Boston, USA, on May 23-26, 2010.




Miguel B. O’Farrell reported on the "Argentine Customs Alert System" at the Session: "U.S. Government Resources for Protecting and Enforcing IP Abroad".




Iris V. Quadrio chaired INTA's Latin America Council meeting and also participated in the Leadership Committee meeting, as vice-chair.




Santiago R. O'Conor acted as moderator in the panel on "Trademarks News in Latin America”. He also took an active part as a member of INTA’s Programs Committee, as well as President of the Academic Committee in the election of panels for the Joint Conference INTA/ASIPI which will refer to "Capitalization of the Use of Trademarks in Sports and Entertainment" to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in March 2011.




Gustavo P. Giay participated as speaker in the panel session entitled "Maintaining a consistent enforcement model in Latin America" during the Spring Annual Meeting of the International Anti-counterfeiting Coalition (IACC). As Committee Vice-chair, he attended the meetings of the Anti-counterfeiting Committee (ACC Committee) of INTA. The ACC Committee is comprised of seven regional subcommittees. Lastly, he attended the meeting of INTA's Latin American Council, of which he is a member. 




On May 24-25, our Firm hosted a Hospitality Suite at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, which was visited by many clients and friends who discussed their ongoing IP matters and picked up materials and literature, while enjoying food, drinks and a video with beautiful views of Argentina.
