International Trademark Association
Several members of Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal attended the International Trademark Association (INTA) Annual Conference held in Berlin, Germany, on May 17-21, 2008. Iris V Quadrio attended the Board of Directors' meeting and chaired the Treaty Analysis Committee Meeting. Mrs. Quadrio has been appointed as Chair of the Latin America Council of INTA, which was created to implement the recommendations of INTA’s Regional Plan 2008-2012 for Latin America and to enhance greater coordination of INTA’s activities in the region. The Council is formed by a number of committee leaders from Latin America and will meet twice a year.
Santiago R O'Conor chaired the Roundtable on "Trademark infringements through comparative advertising in Latin America". Mr O'Conor also attended the INTA Programmes Committee Meeting and the Meeting related to the organization of the next INTA Annual Conference to be held in Seattle, USA, in May 2009, at which he will chair the Latin America Panel.
