On October 19-24, 2014 the IBA Annual Conference was held in Tokyo, at which several members of Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal gave presentations: Cecilia M. Mairal gave a presentation on “Liability of intermediaries and rating agencies”; Roberto E. Silva, Jr. on “Lending in an exchange controls environment – what you need to know”; Pablo A. Artagaveytia on “Eat, pray, represent me: are you my client and do I owe you a duty?”, and Pablo Viñals Blake on “Company financing: alternative funding for private companies”. Also, Cecilia M. Mairal and Roberto E. Silva, Jr. were appointed Co-Chairs of the Securities Law Committee and of the Banking Law Committee, respectively, both as from January 1, 2015.
