International Bar Association

On October 12-17, 2008 the Annual Conference of the International Bar Association (IBA) was held in Buenos Aires, at which several members of Marval, O’Farrell & Mairal had an active participation. Miguel B O’Farrell gave a presentation on "Mandatory Mediation in Argentina (experience could be considered successful)" in the "Hot Topics in Mediation" session; Roberto E Silva (Jr) was a member of the panel on “Takeover of Financial Institutions”, and Cecilia M Mairal gave a presentation at the panel on “Acquisition of Companies in the Insolvency Zone” sponsored by the Securities Committee, the Capital Markets Forum and the Insolvency and Restructuring Section. Pablo S Cereijido gave a presentation at the panel on "Fronting Insurance" organized by the Insurance Committee and Facundo Viel Temperley was a member of the panel "Having Fun at Your Own Risk: the drafting and enforcement of contractual releases" sponsored by the Space Law Committee and Negligence & Damages Committee.
