Counterfeiting

Miguel B O'Farrell raised the issue of “Control of Infringements to Model and Industrial Design Registries (Law No16,478 - Decree 6,673/63)” at the Meeting No8 of the Customs Forum against Counterfeiting held at the Customs office on December 13, 2007. At this meeting, the Sub-Director of Customs Control Dr Silvina Tirabassi commented that the Customs authority will help in such control, which will be performed in addition to the Alert System (“Sistema de Asientos de Alerta”) -limited to trademarks-, with the assistance of any interested party filing with the Customs authority the relevant title and any other useful information in order to detect possible infringements to model and industrial design registries.
