Gustavo Giay participated as speaker in the panel "Border measures in Latin America: just a ‘summer hit’ or a trend that has come to stay?", at the International Anticounterfeiting Coallition (IACC) Annual Meeting which was held in Seattle, United States, on May 13-15, 2009. He also attended the International Trademark Association Annual Meeting, held in Seattle on May 17-20, 2009, where he currently chairs the Anticounterfeiting and Enforcement Subcommittee Latin America & Caribbean Subcommittee.
