Ninety years ago, the brothers Juan and Enrique de Marval founded an office specifically dedicated to intellectual property. In 1938, when Jorge E. O'Farrell (1915-2000) joined the firm, its activities were extended to include the provision of legal services. Under the name of Marval & O'Farrell the firm developed and established its world-wide reputation. Its current name was adopted in 1991, when Héctor A. Mairal joined the firm.
