New Geographical Indication for Wines
The new Geographical Indication consists of terroirs with distinctive qualities, suitable for producing quality wines.
The National Viticulture Institute issued Resolution 1/2022, published in the Official Gazette on January 25, 2023, adding a new Geographical Indication (GI) to the list of GIs recognized in Argentina.
Therefore, as Bodegas Chandon SA requested, the name EL PERAL in the department of Tupungato, Province of Mendoza, was recognized, protected, and registered as an Argentinian GI.
The new GI consists of terroirs with distinctive qualities, suitable for producing quality wines, as established by the Law No. 25163, which is the legal framework designating and presenting wines and spirits of vinic origin in Argentina.
The GI map is available here.
