The Ban against Dismissals and Suspension of Employees is Extended

On November 16, Presidential Order (DNU) No. 891/2020 (the “Order”) was published in the Official Gazette extending for 60 days the ban against dismissing employees without just cause and against dismissing and suspending employees due to a lack or reduction of work and force majeure. The ban had been put in place on March 31 via Presidential Order No. 329 and was extended via Presidential Orders No. 487, 624 and 761.

The Order provides, as an exception, the extension of the ban against suspensions under the terms of Section 223 bis of the Labor Contract Law.
