Mining investments in Latin America will add up to USD 300,000 million until 2020, due to an improvement in the region’s economic conditions, the wealth of its deposits and a voracious demand from Asia, and in spite of global turbulence, according to unions and companies in the industry (published by Reuters). Currently, 45% of copper produced worldwide comes from Latin America, as well as 50% of silver, 26% of molybdenum, 21% zinc, and 20% gold.
