New Extension of the Social, Preventive and Mandatory Isolation for Certain Cities, and Social, Preventive and Mandatory Distancing for the Rest of the Country

On August 31, Decree 714/2020 (the “Decree”) was published in the Official Gazette, extending the term of the “Social, Preventive and Mandatory Isolation” until September 20, 2020 inclusive for certain areas of the country, and ordering the “Social, Preventive and Mandatory Distancing” for the rest of the areas. The Social, Preventive and Mandatory Distancing implies that people can circulate within the city they live in, work and carry out their activities provided they keep two meters away from each other and comply with the established protocols.

 

The suspension of on-site classes continues at all levels, as well as the prohibition to circulate for those who are a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case, the exemption to attend work for certain  people who are at risk, and the prohibition of entry to the country for non-resident foreigners is extended until September 20.

 

A development to note is that the Decree authorizes meetings of up to 10 people in open air spaces provided the protocols in force are complied with and as long as local authorities of each jurisdiction so authorize.

 

The Social, Preventive and Mandatory Isolation will continue in force for the Metropolitan Area of ​​Buenos Aires.
